CEOs ran the Prague Half Marathon in order to support the Second Chance for people with Criminal Records

The Prague Half Marathon took place on the 1st of April with 11,500 runners from 57 countries around the world taking part. 38 runners wore the Yellow Ribbon in support of this initiative which started in Singapore in 2004 with the idea of supporting ex-offenders in their reintegration back into society. The three objectives of the initiative are:

  1. Raise Awareness of the need to give second chances to ex-offenders and their families;
  2. Generate Acceptance of ex-offenders and their families in the community;
  3. Inspire community Action to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-offenders back into society.

This was the second year of the Yellow Ribbon Run in Czech Republic, which through collaboration has become a part of the Prague Half Marathon. The Yellow Ribbon’s runners are highlighting the challenges of finding employment of people after imprisonment.

The next relay run will take place on 14th June 2017.
