The American Probation and Parole Association is pleased to issue a Call for Presenters for APPA’s Winter Training Institute, February 21-24, 2021 in Seattle, WA. This training institute will provide participants with workshop opportunities that emphasize skill-building, an increase in relevant competencies, and enhanced career development. Preference will be given to workshop proposals that include activities, audience participation, practicing new skills, significant knowledge enhancement, and new research for the field of community corrections. Training institute participants include community corrections professionals in the fields of pretrial, probation, and parole. Attendees are representatives of reentry services, program and treatment providers, the judiciary, criminal justice researchers and educators, and others who are interested in the industry.
Seattle is a vibrant, destination city that we look forward to sharing with you. APPA remains cognizant of COVID-19 and will adjust plans if need be to ensure the safety of our attendees, guests and staff. Please consider how to reach audience members in a virtual setting for your workshop proposal. APPA will plan to include the opportunity for attendees to access these trainings online during and potentially following the training institute.
