The ICPA Programme Committee invites individuals, agencies and organizations interested in presenting papers at the Association’s 2015 Annual Conference to submit ideas for consideration. The theme of our 17th Annual Conference is “Managing Risk in Contemporary Correctional Systems”. The conference will be hosted by Corrections Victoria and held in the vibrant city of Melbourne, Australia from October 25-30, 2015.
With this theme in mind, the Programme Committee welcomes abstracts from practitioners, the non-governmental sector, justice officials, various international agencies and/or consultants, the private sector, scholars and academics and any other interested individuals involved in prisons and corrections. Proposals are welcomed for individual or co-authored papers to be presented in plenary sessions, workshops or panel presentations.
Our ICPA Conference is the foremost annual international gathering for correctional officials to ‘learn from each other.’ The ICPA Programme Committee consequently extends an invitation to our international correctional colleagues to submit ideas for presentations relating to the general theme and especially in the following related subtopics:
In selecting papers, priority will be given to those that are clearly related to the Conference’s main theme. Multiple submissions are permitted but only one submission will be accepted.
Again this year the Programme Committee will identify a number of outstanding submissions for presentation during the main ‘Plenary’ sessions at the conference. The selection will be based on relevance to the conference topic, breath of innovative practice and evidence of a strong research/empirical base. Preference will be given to those proposals that are developed with across agency or across-jurisdiction collaboration.
We will reply to the primary author notifying you of our decision. If your abstract is accepted we will contact you for more information if necessary.
The closing date for submissions is 31st May 2015 and the ICPA Programme Committee will inform you of the outcome shortly after this date. Any questions or further information can be obtained from the Programme Committee via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Submissions are to be made in English using our online form, including:
– The abstract submission form completed in its entirety. Please keep this concise and to the point (no longer than two pages);
– A short professional biography/resume for the author and co-authors intending to participate in the presentation.
DO NOT EMAIL YOUR SUBMISSION TO ICPA
Please note that ICPA does not provide financial support or assistance for speakers. All presenters will be required to cover their own expenses for conference registration fees, travel and accommodation.
Accepted presenters must register for the Conference to be included on the programme.
