ICPA is honoured to have a representative in the Senior Award Board for the United Nations Trailblazer Award for Women Justice and Corrections Officers. This initiative is organised by the United Nations’ Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions. Manon Bisson, ICPA’s Executive Director, is amongst the four leaders in the areas of human rights, justice, corrections and gender from within and outside of the United Nations who will select the winner of the award.

The Award will, on an annual basis, recognise women government-provided personnel deployed to United Nations peace operations who have made outstanding contributions to mandate delivery in the area of justice or corrections and who have challenged gender stereotypes and gender-related barriers through their performance. The Trailblazer Award will be an essential component of Department of Peace Operations efforts to achieve gender parity and build inclusive and empowering work environments for women officers.
