Modern correctional communications rarely reveal their full meaning in a single message, call, photo, or video visit. This presentation follows the journey of a series of communications as small fragments of information move across secure messages, shared photos, phone calls, and other digital channels. Drawing from real-world analyses of inmate communications, including techniques used across millions of communications in correctional agency environments, attendees will see how AI can ethically assist with transcription, translation, idiom interpretation, semantic search, contextual review, risk scoring, investigator workflows, and scheduled intelligence summaries. The goal is not to replace correctional staff, but to help them connect scattered signals that may otherwise remain hidden in a growing volume of digital communication.
Aligned with ICPA’s theme of “Partnerships in a Modern Corrections Landscape,” the session frames AI as part of a broader operational partnership among age.
