Thematic Workshop Sessions

A new correctional institution model is proposed that centers on treatment and rehabilitation while simultaneously enforcing the sentences of individuals with substance use disorders. The “Prison Model for the Treatment, Guidance, and Rehabilitation of Substance-Dependent Individuals” represents a holistic approach aimed not only at the punishment of addicted individuals but also at their reintegration into society as healthy and productive members. Services provided by a multidisciplinary team include medical treatment, psychosocial support, vocational training, and social reintegration programs. This model offers a significant opportunity for transformation within the correctional system and makes a strategic contribution to both public health and public safety.
