Dr. Hüseyin Şık was born on June 1, 1982, in Elazığ, Türkiye, and after completing his bachelor's degree at Marmara University Faculty of Law, he became a legal Professional and academic who also completed his master's and doctorate degrees. He commenced his career in 2006 as a Judge Candidate at Kartal Courthouse, gaining valuable experience through various roles.Currently serving as the Head of Rehabilitation and Community Integration Department at the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses under the Ministry of Justice. He has developed extensive expertise in the criminal justice system, execution services and has a wide range of expertise in counter-radicalization and counter-terrorism. His proficiency in English has enabled him to deliver effective presentations at national and international conferences and engage in study visits to numerous countries. Additionally, he holds various certifications and actively participates in European Union projects. His academic contributions are noteworthy, with published books and articles contributing significantly to the field. Some of his notable books include"Abuse of Duty in the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237", "Resistance to Fulfilling Duty Offense", "Public Prosecutor's Office in the Turkish Judicial System", and "Legislated Jurisprudence Criminal Execution Legislation". His research articles, such as "Aggravated Offense Due to Result - Turkish Penal Code Article 87/4" in the Journal of Justice and "Presumption of Innocence and Prosecutor (Daktaras/Lithuania Decision)", in the Journal of Dispute Resolution, cover crucial topics.He has actively participated in international forums, gaining recognition as an international expert by attending the "Counter-Terrorism Consultations" organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
