Parallel Workshops
This session evaluates the role of technology in facilitating the release of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) who are qualified to be freed from incarceration at the correctional facilities in the Philippines under the supervision of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), especially during the time of pandemic, and how it ensures digital inclusion for PDLs considering that during this critical time, connection of PDLs to their families is crucial most especially to their mental well-being. This presentation also analysis the effectivity of key institutions in the performance of their functions, taking into consideration their respective challenges.
