11am – 11.45am GMT, 28 October 2026 ‐ 45 mins

Room: Meeting Room 1B (Level 3)

Parallel Workshops

This session explores how partnership inspections contribute to continuous improvement across the Northern Ireland Prison Service. Led by Criminal Justice Inspection Northern Ireland (CJI), the discussion will examine the collaborative approach taken by CJI, His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons, the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority, and the Education and Training Inspectorate in assessing prison performance.

The panel will consider the impact of inspection findings, recommendations, and identified concerns in driving and sustaining positive change, including the achievement of ‘Good’ outcomes against the Healthy Prisons Tests. Delegates will gain insight into how inspection, scrutiny, and partnership working support leadership, accountability, and better outcomes for prisoners.
