Dr. Ramona Apostol is the coordinator of the innovation program on security and organised crime at the Custodial Institutions Agency of the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security. In this role, she is coordinating the prioritisation and subsequent execution of innovation projects which contribute to her organisation’s objectives on the topics of security and organised crime. Previously, Ramona has advised and coordinated numerous procurements of innovation, performed by European and international consortia of public authorities. Between 2014-2020 she has contributed to the European Assistance For Innovation Procurement (eafip) initative of the European Commission as co-author of the Eafip Toolkit and adviser to the selected procurements of innovation selected from several European countries. Ramona holds a doctoral degree from Leiden University on the topic of public procurement of innovation. As Honorary Research Fellow at Maastricht School of Management, she has conducted between 2017-2019 research and has lectured on various topics related to the legal and policy framework to public procurement of innovation.
