The Singapore Prison Service (SPS) adopts a seamless throughcare approach where there are continuous and coordinated efforts to address the risks and needs of inmates while they are inside prison, which is followed through in the community upon their release. It is multi-faceted and considers how inmates as individuals interact with their eco-system.
This presentation highlights the use of technology in SPS's community corrections to meet the increasing operational and reintegration needs with more supervisees emplaced in the community.
These technological implementations aim to improve the effectiveness of community corrections, enhance public safety and support the successful reintegration of offenders and ex-offenders into society.
With technology advancement, SPS is equipped with automation systems and interactive applications, reducing manual work and achieving time savings to manage supervisees effectively in the community.
