The Singapore Prison Service (SPS) embarked on a journey to revolutionise its correctional methods through technology.
During this journey, SPS engaged over 1,000 stakeholders, including its staff, inmates and volunteers, to thoroughly assess and map the digital environment within SPS. This insightful process unveiled vital areas that require innovative solutions.
This initiative is primarily aimed at refining operational processes, boosting efficiency, and emphasising the critical role of technology in SPS. Technologies such as Data Analytics and Robotic Process Automation play a pivotal role in this transformation.
However, the journey is not without its challenges. Budget limitations pose significant obstacles to modernising existing infrastructural facilities with new technology.
Despite these challenges, SPS continually advance and adapts in the rapidly evolving digital landscape, striving to set a benchmark for the future of correctional services.
