Developing data sharing solutions within a justice sector environment is complex. Competing agency priorities, scarce resources, issues of data sovereignty and security, and effort coordination across different stakeholders to tight timeframes creates challenges and a system rather than silo approach. SA Corrections is currently replacing its legacy offender management system with a new commercial off the shelf system in which secure data sharing is a core and critical component to agency and sector outcomes. Working collaborating across all stakeholders is critical to project success. This presentation will share the story so far with experiences from different perspectives – corrections, justice partner and the system suppliers.
