Parallel Workshops
This presentation will look specifically at the creative collaboration that has occurred in designing the New Tasmanian Youth Justice facility and the associated Model of Care, in response to the Commission of Enquiry (COI) into the Tasmanian Government’s Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in Institutional settings.
Edwina and Sarah will elaborate on the range of different opportunities established for consultation and collaboration with the various key stakeholders, through workshops, presentations and community drop in sessions, and the creative collaboration that occurred between the design team and the model of care team – two tasks that occurred in parallel in a true co-design process, informing, influencing and evolving over time. The importance of having a Model of Care firmly grounded in the purpose, vision and principles of the detention environment that align with the key design objectives of the built form will be explained and explored.
