This presentation explores two major topics:
- How increasing the communication options for inmates can increase and improve these connections during incarceration,
- How these connections can influence positive outcomes.
The “old normal” isn’t for everyone. For some, seeing a face through video visitation is far more powerful than a phone call, while for others, text, video and voice messages are preferred.
Ways in which a prisoners’ outside support network plays a factor in optimizing post-incarceration outcomes will be outlined. Christopher Ditto, Vice President of Research & Development with ViaPath (formerly known as GTL), will explore the measured impact that new digital communications have had on prisoner connections with the outside, gleaned from analyzing the 500 million inmate calls, 22 million video visits, and 186 million messages processed by his company’s platform each year.
