11.30am – 12pm EDT, 3 September 2024 ‐ 30 mins

Workshop Session

This presentation will discuss an academic research study that examines a voluntary community-based organization (CBO) who provides wraparound, family-driven services to those affected by incarceration. The presentation will introduce the “Five Circles of Support”, an interactive, holistic approach created and implemented to assist incarcerated people, their children, and families. Particular attention will be paid to one of the five elements that focuses on cross-sector partnerships. More specifically, the presentation’s primary focus will be a government partnership the CBO has established with a federal reentry court to strengthen the likelihood of successful reentry and reintegration by facilitating a process referred to as “family reunification”. The study’s results and policy implications will be discussed.
