Re-entering Citizens’ Perceptions and Utilization of the Process, Services, and Provisions of a Multi-Agency Re-entry Court for Family Reunification (PID198)

1.30pm – 2pm GMT+03:00, 30 October 2025 ‐ 30 mins

Thematic Workshop Sessions

The purpose of this presentation is to discuss an academic, qualitative research study that informs on the availability, reception, and effectiveness of re-entry and family reunification services offered by a specialized federal re-entry court, in partnership with community-based organizations, to recently released incarcerated individuals. Interviews conducted with the past and present re-entering population directly served by the CARE (Court-Assisted Re-entry) Court gauges their responsiveness to available services provided by CARE Court and community partners. Their perceptions and receptions to available services can indicate the likelihood of successful re-entry and how to implement programs that better suit the needs of those they are intended for. Results and policy implications will be discussed.
