Reducing Reoffending Through Effective Rehabilitation: Lessons from Uganda Prisons Service
Join us to explore how the Uganda Prisons Service (UPS) is transforming rehabilitation and reintegration for offenders. Drawing on research across multiple prisons, this session highlights programs- ranging from vocational training and education to psychosocial and spiritual support-that have significantly reduced reoffending. Participants will gain insights into evidence-based strategies, practical challenges, and innovative approaches to strengthening aftercare and community reintegration. The presentation will also spark discussion on equitable program access, sustainable desistance, and building integrated systems to track long-term impact.
