The rapid evolution of digital technologies is reshaping correctional environments, requiring prisons to create and manage a wide range of ICT systems and then integrate them seamlessly into their physical infrastructure. The presentation will offer an insight into the EuroPris guidance note, jointly prepared by the EuroPris ICT and Real Estate Expert Groups, which explains the fundamental building blocks of establishing and operating ICT solutions within a prison environment.

The presentation will offer prison practitioners a clear commentary on the accepted practices of how to develop, manage and maintain ICT installations within prisons. Drawing on European best practices from around 15 countries, it highlights the importance of early-stage planning, cross-disciplinary collaboration, to ensure that ICT systems, from security and surveillance to communications and digital services, are embedded efficiently and sustainably to provide future ready correctional facilities.
