Research & Development Network Meeting

11am – 12.30pm EDT, 3 September 2024 ‐ 1 hour 30 mins

Workshop Session

The ICPA R&D Network is an informal collection of both academics and corrections professionals who believe in the value of research for guiding practice. With a current signed-up count of more than 130 members from over 30 countries, the group concentrates on a few major activities in realizing its mission of supporting research-informed practice, the principal ones being the organizing of research-focused Webinars, a biannual Research Conference and the continued publication of our ICPA Journal Advancing Corrections, currently with Call for Papers issued for both Edition 18 on What Works for Women and 19 on Juvenile Justice.

For this year’s annual in-person meeting of the Network, we invite all current Network members and any potentially interested members to a special ‘dialogue’ session with this year’s IACFP Distinguished Scholar Lecturer, Professor of Criminology Mark Halsey, from Flinders University in Australia.  As well, as usual, we will invite interested members to give us brief updates of their latest research activities and discuss plans for our Network for this coming year, including possible topics for Research Webinars and several new Editions of Advancing Corrections.

Come join us if you think research can make a difference.
