Parallel Workshops
The R&D Network’s Mission is “to effectively disseminate research-informed correctional knowledge and promote its application for the advancement of professional and humane corrections worldwide.” We want to help the knowledge and insights that can come from research to travel more easily across disciplines, professional roles and national boundaries. During this Annual meeting of the Network we will be briefly reviewing our activities and discussing our priorities for the coming year. We want your input! Participants will also be invited to share their research priorities and any interests in connecting or collaborating with others. A highlight of the meeting will be an opportunity for an informal dialogue with this year’s Distinguished Scholar, Professor Shadd Maruna, and his ideas about “Who Owns Reintegration? Collaboration, Lived Experience and Co-Production of Justice Outcomes.”
Dr Melvinder Singh is a trained clinical psychologist who has served in the Public Service in Singapore for more than two decades. Over the course of his career, Dr Melvinder has held a range of roles spanning forensic and clinical psychology practice and policy, research, programme evaluation, and data science.
The majority of his career has been spent with the Singapore Prison Service (SPS), where he has worked with violent and sex offenders - addressing their needs and preparing them for reintegration into the community. Dr Melvinder currently serves as a Senior Consultant Psychologist in SPS, with a particular focus on matters concerning the rehabilitation of violent offenders.
