The humane treatment and public health of justice involved people matters! We have used computer-aided detection (CAD) in Haiti and the Central African Republic which offers an opportunity to improve TB detection by overcoming inefficiencies in CXR image interpretation, automating and standardizing X-ray interpretation, and complementing shortage of specialized healthcare personnel.
In low-income countries, using an application allows the rapid detection of cases is invaluable. It allows early treatment, reducing the rate of contagiousness and thus cutting the chain of transmission. Health through Walls, an organization operating in developing countries, has used Artificial intelligence, developed by Qure.ai and identified the incidence of tuberculosis as three times higher than the national figures.
A.I. can be used to diagnose tuberculosis at a faster rate in order to prevent severe illness. These models can guide medical personnel to a presumptive diagnosis and further help them to come to a decision. The use of the application developed by Qure.ai for the automatic reading of chest X-Rays allows us in Haiti and the Central African Republic to detect many more cases of tuberculosis in vulnerable population at high risk. Low-income countries would benefit from using Artificial Intelligence. It’s a long-term investment in the humane treatment of justice involved populations and has an immediate impact for the individual and the broader public health of the community.
We would love to share our program approach and impacts with you! Please come and join us and let us know what you are doing in your operations!
