Working restoratively with imprisoned fathers and their children does not seem to be the main focus of the prison system. However, improving the relationship between incarcerated fathers and their children benefits the prison environment, prevents crime, and prevents the intergenerational transmission of criminality. Avans University of Applied Sciences collaborates with Exodus and the Centre of Expertise on Children of Imprisoned Parents in order to promote restorative practices on this topic. We would like to inspire you with some of our projects and research on imprisoned fathers and their children.
