2pm – 2.30pm GMT+03:00, 30 October 2025 ‐ 30 mins

Thematic Workshop Sessions

Substance use disorder among individuals with carceral and community corrections represents an overwhelming challenge to the health and well-being of both incarcerated individuals and correctional staff. The Justice Community Overdose Innovation Network (JCOIN) is a collaborative network of top researchers and scholars studying substance use disorder, medication assisted treatment, and overdose prevention. This presentation will provide an overview of recent/critical science on SUD and MAT while also linking audience members to a vast array of free resources available from JCOIN. Audience members will receive handouts and materials and be encouraged to join the JCOIN network as they work to improve substance use disorder treatment in their corrections facilities and within community corrections.
