Environmental psychology defines the term environment broadly, encompassing natural environments, social settings, built environments, learning environments, and informational environments. For prisoners, the term environment refers to the living space built for them. In this paper, Berfu provides an overview of ‘Prison architecture from past to present’, ‘Some resarches regarding prison architecture’ and ‘Republican prison architecture in Türkiye’. While preparing this paper she benefitted from some researches that were conducted regarding Prison architecture, some articles regarding Turkish prison architecture and prison architecture history.
