Michel Daccache was trained as a researcher in social science and have a long-standing background in the field of prisons and probation, with over 7 years of experience and a track record of initiatives. Holder of a master degree in public policies and political science (SciencesPo Paris), PhD in sociology, he have been working for the French Prison Department of the Ministry of Justice in various positions. In his previous role, he contributed as a technical expert to develop research and studies on prison and probation. Then, as the deputy chief and later on the chief of the Research & Innovation Office, he added various actions to his portfolio: promoting innovation and sustainable development, picking and sharing good practices, monitoring and evaluating public policies. He has significantly contributed to the drafting of a white paper on prison real estate and logistics, to the implementation of eco-friendly policies in prisons and probation services, to the introduction of new technologies in the field of insertion (e.g. Virtual Reality) and to the assessment of innovative solutions for probation (e.g. accommodation facilities for defendants accused of domestic violence).
Throughout the course of his career, he has perfected his knowledge on prison and probation issues and abilities to run professional networks. He has proven to be effective and collaborative with strong communication talents. He enjoys collective brainstorming sessions in which he coordinates activities to achieve a common goal. He stays in tune with new developments in his field.
