Parallel Workshop Session

The DrugDetect project aims to procure an innovative solution for the automatic detection of a large range of drugs in correctional institutions and prisons, available 24/7, does not cause delays in internal processes, not require minimal human intervention, and is GDPR compliant. Starting from a needs analysis of the partners involved, a study of the market is organised exploring whether the market can translate the needs into an innovative prison solution. Followed by several testing phases in the actual prison setting and by prison staff, the innovative solution is adapted to the unique context of and with the prison sector together, in order to tackle the rapid evolving prison drug phenomenon. This presentation focuses on sharing the project knowledge and prison experience with the use of the innovative solution by the Belgian prison administration. The project is co-funded by the COSME programme of the EU. It consists of a Consortium of Greece, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain.
