Prototype of an integrated data management system for a successful rehabilitation in Chile (PID011)

2.15pm – 3pm EDT, 27 October 2022 ‐ 45 mins

Parallel Workshops

Based on a multi disciplinary research team, the problem that the project seeks to face is the lack of systematic self-observation of the prison system regarding critical barriers in the area of reintegration of inmates –both internal to the prison system and external to it—which results in the fact that various key indicators and processes related to reintegration are invisible or appear fragmented or late, thereby limiting the possibilities for both effective and timely decision-making and the gathering of evidence around critical issues that affect social reintegration.

Findings from this project will serve to generate an integrated monitoring and management prototype for effective social reintegration through a technological platform, which is based both on existing information (eg: Gendarmerie administrative records) and on primary data (from mixed nature - qualitative and quantitative -) necessary to collect, analyze and make visible for the various regions of the country.
