Spetosomusa Chinobva is an Officer Commanding in the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) with extensive experience in correctional management, offender rehabilitation, and institutional administration. She has played a key role in advancing rehabilitation-oriented approaches within Zimbabwe’s correctional system, with a particular focus on open prison models, skills development programmes, and community-based reintegration strategies. Her work reflects a strong commitment to aligning correctional practice with international standards while adapting solutions to the realities of resource-constrained environments.
Her professional interests centre on correctional reform, with an emphasis on reducing recidivism through innovative, partnership-driven approaches. She has been actively involved in initiatives that promote vocational training, agricultural rehabilitation, and post-release support mechanisms for offenders. She is particularly interested in strengthening collaboration between correctional institutions, civil society, and community stakeholders to enhance reintegration outcomes.
