James Levy is an executive in the justice industry with the goal of using technology for good. As the director of Socrates Software and L&G International, James is committed to his vision of creating positive changes that instigate positive outcomes for those among the least fortunate in our society.

He believes that putting digital devices which prioritise rehabilitation and education in the hands of the incarcerated can make the world a better place — and this focus is paying off for those who now have access to these devices. Under James’s direction, his companies continue to roll out unique tablet platforms across prisons and jails on three continents, collaborating with health and employment services in order to curb recidivism and bring hope into the lives of those struggling to escape the incarceration system.

Over 15 years of experience in the justice industry have shaped James’s approach to these transformational systems. Realising that societal and organisational change is always multi-layered, James has driven Socrates Software to provide products throughout incarceration, probation and policing, working with service users on both sides of the line, lending efficiencies and insight to the authority and sorely needed access to rehabilitation, education and careers services for offenders and ex-offenders at all levels of the justice system.

He has experience working directly with government agencies around the world, often transitioning them to new technologies.

Michael Page is the Managing Director of Michael Page Consultants. Michael assists clients meet their operational objectives and strengthen public safety and protection, by working with them to fully understand and mitigate business risk across their long term digital and technology requirements, ensuring operational stability and resilience as primary objectives. Michael provides overall strategic direction and focused delivery of future proofing change programs within Justice operations, with a proven track record in business process design and transformation with a particulate talent for seeing the bigger picture.

Sir Tim Purcell

Sir Tim Purcell is Core Systems’ Head of Australasia and has over 30 years international corporate experience in business management, software development, security systems and operational solutions consulting and implementation. In recent years has been working to deliver prisoner and operational solutions in Australia’s largest prisons.
With a focus on outcomes for all stakeholders but particularly to achieve outcomes for prisoners during their incarceration and their return to the community to assist in reducing recidivism. This is what drives Tim and why he joined Core Systems. His experience in building prisons and working with the prison operators gives a unique set of skills which gives a unique perspective in achieving real outcomes.
Over the years in his different roles Tim has:

• Presented at numerous industry conferences around the world
• Is a member of professional organisations in the Justice space
• Holds high level security clearance
• Was a Director of the European Australian Business Council
• Held positions on Technical Standards bodies

In 2008 Tim was honoured as a Knight First Class of the Order of the White Rose of Finland for bilateral innovation work between Finland and Australia for businesses, universities, and government when he held the position as Chairman of the Finland Australia Chamber of Commerce.
