Meet the Residents
  • Žydrė Lebedevienė from Lithuania brings over 18 years of experience in corrections, specializing in communication and international cooperation. With a background in English and a master's degree in law, Žydrė has strengthened Lithuania's ties with international correctional systems.
  • Michal Chroscielewski from Poland, brings much experience from his 17-year tenure in the Polish prison service. His roles have ranged from contact officer to deputy director of the regional prison service in Warsaw. Michal's expertise extends to probation and international relations in corrections.
  • Kaspars Ozols, representing Latvia, brings a unique perspective with his 12 years in foreign service and current leadership role in the Project Department at the Ministry of Justice. His experience in diplomatic postings and consular assistance adds a valuable dimension to the program.
The residents collectively expect to gain valuable insights into global correctional practices, network with international experts, and learn from experienced professionals in the field. They aim to broaden their understanding of innovative approaches in corrections and enhance their skills in implementing humane, evidence-based solutions. Ultimately, the residents hope to bring back knowledge and best practices to their respective countries, contributing to the improvement and modernization of their national correctional systems.

The program, running from October 2024 to March 2025, offers these residents the opportunity to connect with the international community, learn from global leaders, and contribute their skills and expertise to specific topics within ICPA.

ICPA Executive Director, Natalie Boal, expressed enthusiasm about the program: "We are thrilled to welcome Žydrė, Michal, and Kaspars to our residency program. Their diverse backgrounds and shared commitment to improving correctional practices align perfectly with ICPA's mission. We look forward to the fresh perspectives they will bring and the mutual learning that will take place."

As the program progresses, residents will have the opportunity to provide feedback, ensuring that the experience meets their expectations and contributes to their professional growth. The ICPA eagerly anticipates the positive impact these residents will have on the field of corrections both during their residency and in their future endeavours.
