This initiative, the Sint Maarten Rule of Law Facilities project, is being led by the Ministry of Justice of St. Maarten. The project is co-funded by the Sint Maarten government and the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations of the Netherlands.

In order to ensure a commitment to excellence and transparency, UNOPS is implementing a two-step tender process. The first stage involves pre-qualifying potential contractors. These contractors must prove their financial capacity and demonstrate their previous experience on similar projects.

Once pre-qualified, contractors will be invited to participate in the second step of the tender process. This involves submitting their technical and economic offer for the main contract for works for the Sint Maarten prison facility.

Interested contractors can apply via the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) website here.
