Eivind is a practicing architect in DARK Arkitekter, where he is serving as the head of urbanism. Eivind believes the path to a sustainable society goes through how we shape and plan our urban environment. Through his work as an architect, he has always kept this in mind when designing. When attending the Oslo school of Architecture and Design, he worked part time in the Oslo Prison and gained insight in the social and physical impact building design of that nature does to the inmates. He has since worked with this theme on several occasions, and latest through collaborations with Wayback and the RESCALED movement to look at a small scale-community integrated prison typology.

Helene De Vos

Executive Director, RESCALED, Belgium

Helene De Vos is the Executive Director of RESCALED, the European Movement for Detention Houses (www.rescaled.org). She holds a PhD in Criminology (KU Leuven, Belgium). For her doctoral research, she compared the normalization of the living conditions in Belgian and Norwegian prisons both in policy and in practice, which resulted in the book 'Beyond Scandinavian Exceptionalism. Normalization, Imprisonment and Society'.
