Born in Mexico City, he earned a BA in Political Science and Public Administration and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Summa Cum Laude, from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Mr Patiño has 33 years of experience within the Federal and State governments performing planning, organization, management, control and budgeting activities; latest 14 in matters of security and public safety. He is the Former Undersecretary of Federal Penitentiary System for the Federal Public Security Secretariat and President of the Penitentiary System National Conference. Patricio Patiño is the author of the New Model Penitentiary Management book published in Spanish (2011).
