The Ara Poutama Aotearoa – Department of Corrections of New Zealand has arranged three facility visits that participants can choose from. For those staying on after the conference, you can indicate which facility you would like to visit when registering online for this event. Please note that this is not a booking - you can only sign up at the venue. Please note that spaces are limited.
We are pleased to provide the following transportation details for your upcoming prison site visits. All buses will depart from and return to the Pullman Hotel. Both Auckland South Corrections Facility (ASCF) and Auckland Region Women's Corrections Facility (ARWCF) are approximately 15 minutes from Auckland International Airport. Attendees wishing to proceed directly to the airport may arrange private transportation from the prison sites instead of returning to the Pullman Hotel.
Auckland South Corrections Facility (Kohuora)
Departure: 9:15 AM from Pullman Hotel
Return: 1:00 PM from ASCF to Pullman Hotel
Transportation: Bus service provided
Travel time: Approximately 30 minutes each way
Auckland Region Women's Corrections Facility (ARWCF)
Departure: 9:15 AM from Pullman Hotel
Return: 1:00 PM from ARWCF to Pullman Hotel
Transportation: Bus service provided
Travel time: Approximately 30 minutes each way
Waikeria Prison
Departure: 7:30 AM from Pullman Hotel
Arrival: 10:00 AM at Waikeria Prison
Return: 1:00 PM from Waikeria Prison to Pullman Hotel
Transportation: Bus service provided
Travel time: 2 to 2.5 hours each way
Note: Please plan accordingly for the extended travel time
Please note that at the time of this publication, the new unit at Waikeria Prison has not yet received prisoners.
Airport Transportation
