Ms. Ssesanga Lydia is a Principal Rehabilitation and Reintegration Officer at Uganda Prisons Service, coordinating Reintegration and Aftercare programs. She supports programs and collaborations on new perspectives on enhancing reentry into the Community. Ms. Ssesanga has worked with Prisons rehabilitation and Reintegration of offenders for over 15 years, with vast experience in developing and implementing Reintegration and Aftercare services for offenders on release. She worked with partner organizations to develop the 'Rehabilitation and Social Reintegration Guide of Women Prisoners in Uganda' based on Implementation of the Bangkok Rules. She is part of the Board for Wells of Hope Safe Home, an organization providing transitional shelter for Women offenders on release and also represents Uganda Prisons Service on the Justice For Children program steering Committee; contributing to Juvenile Justice Reforms and supporting the wellbeing of Children in contact with the law.

Ms. Ssesanga holds a Bachelors degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University, Post graduate Diplomas in Social Justice, Human Resource Management and Master of Arts in Public Administration and Management.

Stellah Atoo

Superintendent of Prisons Officer In Charge, Luzira Women Prison, Uganda Prisons Service, Uganda

Ms. Stella Salume Atoo is a Superintendent of Prisons. She is the Officer in Charge of Uganda Government Prison Luzira Women, the Maximum Security Prison for Women Offenders in Uganda. She has been at the helm of innovations in the Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Women Offenders, overseeing an increased number of Women offenders engaged in Psychosocial Therapy, Vocational Skills Training and certification, Primary to University Education, and Behavior change programs. She supervises Discharge Boards; assessing needs of Women Prisoners towards release and arranging necessary assistance.

Ms. Atoo has served in various capacities of Prisons Service as a Trainer at the Prisons Academy and Training School, in Uganda, a role she played for over 6 years. She has participated in leadership and Prison Management trainings.She is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Education.
