ICPA 2025 Annual Conference Location Update

This decision was not made lightly. After careful consideration of the uncertainty and potential for escalation of the situation, the ICPA Board agreed that the situation may be perceived to pose or may actually pose security risks to ICPA members traveling to Rwanda, including potential attendees from across the African continent.

 

ICPA acknowledges the work that the Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) has undertaken to date in preparation for the conference. ICPA continues to fully support RCS as a valued member of the Association.

 

ICPA remains committed to supporting the work of correctional services across Africa, including through our partnership with the African Correctional Services Association (ACSA). The Association’s Executive Team will begin working with the region to determine a timeframe and host for a future ICPA conference.

ICPA is pleased to announce Istanbul, Türkiye as the new location for the 2025 Annual Conference. The General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses is an experienced ICPA conference host and ICPA looks forward to working with them as we prepare for 2025.
