A qualified legal practitioner who started her career as a prosecutor in the Singapore Attorney-General's Chambers before moving into private practice, Olivine was invited to join the Singapore University of Social ('SUSS') Sciences School of Law as a member of its founding faculty in 2016.

In her capacity as Senior Lecturer, Olivine maintains a diverse teaching and course development portfolio that includes Constitutional and Administrative Law, Criminal Law, Procedure and Evidence, and Torts Law. In addition to developing and teaching courses at the School of Law, Olivine has also developed modules for the Bachelor in Public Safety and Security degree offered by SUSS' School of Humanities and Behavioural Sciences. Alongside her full-time job, she is also a Sociology PhD candidate in Nanyang Technological University's School of Social Sciences. Her research interests revolve around the incarceration of women and girls, the rehabilitation, re-entry and reintegration of criminal justice-involved women, juvenile offending and intergenerational criminality.

Olivine is also a Director of CARE Singapore, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to working with at-risk youth to bring about positive change.
