Veronica Filippeschi is the Senior Adviser on Vulnerabilities and Policy at the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT), based in Geneva, Switzerland, with over 15 years of experience in human rights. She leads APT’s work to address the situations of heightened risks of torture and ill-treatment faced by women, LGBTIQ+ people and other persons deprived of liberty in situations of heightened vulnerability. In her work, she regularly engages with national oversight bodies, national authorities, civil society organizations, UN and regional human rights bodies and she is the author of several public reports and other documents. Prior to joining the APT in 2013, she worked for several UN agencies in Latin America and Italy. She holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and a Master’s degree in International Human Rights Law.
