Michael Clark, MSW is a clinical social worker who has served as Juvenile Probation Officer, Child Abuse & Neglect case manager and a Family Court Magistrate in Lansing, Michigan. For the past 15 years Michael has directed the Center for Strength-Based Strategies (www.buildmotivation.com ) developing and applying the Strengths Approach to the fields of addictions, mental health, youth services and adult corrections. Mr. Clark was an invited guest speaker for a world-wide gathering in Salvador, Brazil for the United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime (UNODC). In 2014, UNODC – within the United Nations Office in Vienna, Austria (UNOV) -- contracted for his services as consultant and secretariat for addictions treatment. Michael is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and has trained across the USA and overseas. He is co-author to the upcoming book, ““Motivational Interviewing for Offender Rehabilitation and Reentry”” to be published (late 2015) by Guilford Press. Michael is an Executive Board Member for the International Association of Correctional & Forensic Psychology (IACFP) and now acts as the Operations Manager for the Strength-Based Digital Connections, LLC (SBDC, LLC) an Indian-owned software company (Native American). The SBDC, LLC offers time-saving case management software that can connect all Tribal helping agencies via a digital platform.
