Akinari Hayashi is currently working as a Supervisory Correctional Treatment Officer (Classification) at Niigata Prison in Japan. Correctional facilities he has worked in include juvenile classification homes, juvenile training schools, juvenile prisons, PFI（Private Finance Initiative）prisons, and progressive offender prisons, where he has worked for 14 years in psychological assessment, treatment, and social reintegration support. The presenter's area of expertise is criminal psychology, with a particular focus on desistance from crime and delinquency, and has conducted interviews with individuals released from correctional facilities. The presenter's educational background is a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from the Graduate School of Human Sciences, Osaka University. He has presented his research at the Japanese Society of Criminal Psychology while continuing his current occupation after graduation.
