Abstract
Since its start in 2015, Canadian Families and Corrections Network’s Dad HERO (Helping Everyone Realize Opportunities) parenting program continues to achieve success in Canada’s federal and provincial prisons. The project is dedicated to offering parenting skills in an engaging manner; to helping fathers be accountable to their children and families while in prison; to strengthening social connectedness as an asset to prison resiliency and correctional planning; and to strengthen the family unit for reintegration success. An evidence-based curriculum, strong evaluation results, valued partnerships and facilitators, and flexibility ensure ongoing success and sustainability.
