Save the Date: 22–26 April 2024! Technology in Corrections & Innovative Prisons Infrastructure Conferences

The International Corrections and Prisons Association (ICPA) and the European Organisation of Prison and Correctional Services (EuroPris) are holding two international conferences on technology and correctional planning and design in Istanbul, Türkiye, in April 2024.

The Technology in Corrections (TIC) will be held from 22 – 23 April and the Innovative Prisons Infrastructure Conference (IPIC) will be held from 25 – 26 April, hosted by the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses in Türkiye. Wednesday 24 April will be reserved for prison visits for conference attendees from both conferences.  
 
These conferences promise to provide an exciting opportunity for professionals in the corrections field to connect, share ideas, and learn about the latest developments in the industry. 
The fifth global Technology in Corrections Conference (TIC) conference aims to promote the ethical and safe use and implementation of advanced digital technology solutions in corrections under the theme of Digital Rehabilitation. The goal is to challenge prison and probation services, technological companies, researchers, and other experts to find innovative solutions to modernize the services of prisons and probation and prepare re-entry into an increasingly digital society.  
TIC will focus on three key areas:  
 
  • The New Normal is Digital. 
  • Intelligent and efficient Offender Management and Treatm
  • Data-driven Development and Evidence-based practices
The Innovative Prisons Infrastructure Conference (IPIC) will focus on the theme of "Sustainable Planning and Design for Better Corrections," exploring how new partnerships can improve our understanding of how modern planning and design knowledge can drive effective change in correctional facilities. IPIC attendees will engage in exciting seminars on the future of prison design and reflect on how planning and design can support diverse correctional missions. 
IPIC will cover three major themes:  
 
  • Programs, Services, and Project Delivery Methods that Improve Outcomes. 
  • Where and How to Invest Resources for Change. 
  • Can Technology Actually Increase Sustainability and Improve Outcomes? 
The TIC and IPIC conferences will bring together public sector, private sector, academics, NGOs, and other international agencies to share insights, new developments, and projects where innovative design solutions are used to help corrections address issues facing prisons and probation today.

The TIC and IPIC conferences will include an exhibition area with a limited number of tabletop booths available for showcasing products and services to an international audience.
